Tago Voca Privacy Policy

Effective August 28, 2026 · Last updated August 31, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Tago Company, operated by Chanwoo Song, handles information in Tago Voca, a Korean vocabulary-learning app.

1. Guest use and information on the device

Tago Voca can be used without an account. Learning preferences, saved words, review history and schedules, streaks, cached pronunciation, downloaded learning assets, personal tags, content reports, and founding-period activity are stored on the device. Search terms are processed on the device and are not uploaded as search history. On-device information is not used for advertising or tracking.

2. Optional product analytics

After onboarding, Tago Voca asks whether the learner wants to share anonymous product analytics. The setting is off unless the learner agrees and can be changed later in Settings.

If enabled, Tago Voca sends a random installation identifier and coarse feature events such as opening the app, starting or completing a review, continuing a word trail, saving or mastering a word, audio availability, submitting a content report, and exporting saved words. Events can include a quiz mode, broad source or failure category, level, or count. They do not include searched text, Korean headwords, meanings, lesson or report text, email addresses, account identifiers, advertising identifiers, precise location, or data from other apps. This first-party data is used to measure reliability and improve Tago Voca. The installation identifier is never joined to a Tago Account.

Turning analytics off stops future collection, removes queued events on the device, and requests deletion of events previously uploaded for that installation identifier.

3. Learner-requested missing words

When no dictionary result is available, a learner can choose Request this word. Tago Voca does not send anything merely because a search returned no results. Only after the learner taps the request button, the exact searched text, normalized text used to combine duplicate requests, app interface language, content and app versions, request count, and request times are stored locally and sent to Supabase. Requests made offline wait on the device and are retried when a connection is available.

Missing-word requests are kept separate from anonymous product analytics and are not linked to a Tago Account. They are used only to prioritize and improve dictionary content.

4. Content reports

If a learner submits a content report, Tago Voca processes the word record identifier, report category, optional note, content and app versions, submission time, and report status. This information is used to verify and correct learning content. A report is linked to the account only when the learner is signed in at submission; guest reports can be submitted without an account.

5. Optional account and cloud backup

If a learner chooses Apple or Google sign-in, Tago Voca and Supabase Auth process a user identifier, sign-in provider, email address, and any basic authentication profile information the provider makes available. Tago Voca uses this information only to authenticate the learner, link a shared Tago Account, and restore learning records across devices.

For a connected account, Tago Voca stores saved-word identifiers, review status and scheduling data, review results, and synchronization timestamps in Supabase. These records are linked to the Tago Account and are used for app functionality and personalized learning continuity.

Founding-period activity—first-seen time, learning-day count, completed-session count, and qualification time—is kept on the device for guests and linked to the account only after the learner chooses to connect one.

If a learner enables Study reminders, Tago Voca stores the selected time and notification permission state on the device. Guests receive reminders scheduled entirely by the device. For a connected account, Tago Voca may send a Firebase Cloud Messaging registration token, random device identifier, device platform, time zone, interface language, daily target, reminder time, and recent learning time to Supabase so the server can avoid notifying after the daily target and can send at the selected local time. The token is used only to deliver Tago Voca study reminders to that device. Turning reminders off or signing out disables server delivery; account deletion removes the associated records.

6. Google user data

Google Sign-In is optional. Tago Voca does not request access to Google Drive, Gmail, contacts, calendars, or other Google service content. Google account information is not sold, shared for advertising, used for tracking, or used to create advertising profiles.

7. Service providers

Providers may process information outside the learner's country only as necessary to operate their services. Tago Voca requires providers that process data on its behalf to protect it consistently with this policy.

8. Advertising and tracking

The current release contains no third-party advertising, third-party analytics SDK, or cross-app tracking. Tago Voca does not sell personal data.

9. Retention, choices, and deletion

On-device learning information remains until the learner resets Voca data, clears the app's data, or deletes the app. Cloud account and learning information is retained while the connected Tago Account is active or as needed to provide the service.

In Settings, Reset Voca data clears Voca learning data on the device and in the Voca cloud backup while keeping the Tago Account. Delete Tago Account deletes the shared account and related server data across connected Tago apps. Because on-device Voca progress is intentionally usable without an account, a learner who wants to erase both cloud and device data should reset Voca data before deleting the account. Routine backup deletion cycles and limited retention required by law may still apply.

Content reports may be retained after correction as a de-identified quality and audit record. Missing-word requests may be retained until they have been reviewed or aggregated for dictionary planning. Anonymous analytics and missing-word requests cannot be found through an account because they are deliberately not account-linked; the in-app analytics switch uses the local installation identifier only to request deletion of anonymous analytics.

10. Security and children

Tago Voca uses encrypted transport, authentication, and access controls. It is a general-audience educational app and is not directed specifically to children. A learner who requires consent from a parent or guardian must obtain it before connecting an account.

11. Changes and contact

This policy may be updated as Tago Voca changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above and communicated when required. Questions or data requests can be sent to:
